OTF is a strong advocate for Ohio’s turfgrass industry in the state legislative and regulatory arenas. OTF has formed a coalition with the Ohio Lawn Care Association to engage the services of The Batchelder Company who serves as the coalition’s daily lobbying presence at the Ohio Statehouse.

Most recently, OTF successfully fought for online pesticide recertification credits this past year through its efforts with the Ohio Department of Agriculture in order to deliver continuing education during the pandemic. Additionally, OTF sought clarification from the state to ensure that lawn care and golf course maintenance services were considered essential businesses under the emergency COVID order.
